Christmas in Arlington

Anyone who has visited Arlington Cemetery is humbled by the markers of so many who have served this country, many who have given their lives for the freedoms we enjoy. I have only been there in the Summer and now appreciate these images from Christmas in Arlington.

The wreaths at Arlington cemetery, approximately 5000, are donated by the Worcester Wreath Co. of Harrington , Maine . The owner, Merrill Worcester, not only provides the wreaths, but covers the trucking expense as well. He's done this since 1992. Also, most years, groups of Maine school kids combine an educational trip to DC with this event to help out.

Like you, I've only been to Arlington in the spring or summer. What a beautiful sight to see the wreaths laid at each tombstone.
