The truth is Americans are still willing to help out a neighbor even in tough times.
For example, in Seattle, Boeing employees tripled their donations this year to Northwest Harvest, an operator of Washington’s largest food bank.
The American Heart Association also indicates that donations are up this year and hopes this will hold true throughout the busy Christmas season.
What a blessing for those who are able to give and for those who are the recipients of the generosity of others. We all have something to give, if nothing more than an encouraging word or a smile - give what you have.
